Luke Smith, D.O.

Dr Smith is an Idaho native and is very excited to come back home to Idaho to begin his practice. He is very eager to help his patients return to the active lifestyles that they enjoy.

Dr Smith is a fellowship trained orthopedic surgeon with special training in Adult Joint Reconstruction Surgery. He completed his fellowship at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA where he learned minimally invasive joint replacement techniques as well as gained vast experience with robotic-assisted joint replacements. Prior to this, he completed his orthopedic surgery residency in northeast Ohio at Mercy St Joseph and St Elizabeth Health Centers in Warren and Youngstown, Ohio. He attended medical school at Des Moines University in Des Moines, IA, where he concurrently earned his Doctor of Osteopathic (D.O.) degree and his Master of Science in Anatomy degree.

During his undergraduate education at Boise State University, Dr Smith was a member of the Pac-10 Conference champion wrestling team, and was named to the National Wrestling Coaches Association Academic All-America Team in 2007 before a back injury ended his wrestling career. He graduated with Cum Laude honors in 2009. In his free time, Dr Smith enjoys spending time with his beautiful wife, as well as being outdoors-hunting, fishing, camping, snowboarding, and even some rodeo.
